Longtemps, la magnifique 924, sportive et fiable, a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cri\u00e9e par les puristes purs et durs parce qu&rsquo;elle n&rsquo;avait pas de moteur \u00e0 plat refroidi par air \u00e0 l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re. Elle portait son quatre cylindres refroidi par eau \u00e0 l&rsquo;avant (et non \u00e0 l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re) et en plus, ce n&rsquo;\u00e9tait pas une 911. Le quatre cylindres 2.0 litres d&rsquo;Audi, qui \u00e9quipait \u00e9galement l&rsquo;Audi 100 et la VW LT, ne pouvait plus \u00eatre adapt\u00e9 aux normes antipollution am\u00e9ricaines devenues plus strictes qu&rsquo;auparavant qu&rsquo;au prix de nombreux efforts. Or, le march\u00e9 nord-am\u00e9ricain \u00e9tait important pour Porsche, qui a donc repris le quatre cylindres 2,5 litres de la 944 et a r\u00e9duit son taux de compression. Cela suffisait encore pour obtenir 150 ch et des vitesses maximales nettement sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 200 km\/h. Les prix augmentent. Les fans se r\u00e9veillent. Il n&rsquo;y a toutefois pas de si\u00e8ge arri\u00e8re. La voiture est utilis\u00e9e toute l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e en ville, on voit ses petits bobos. Malgr\u00e9 tout, tout fonctionne encore, et ce qui tombe en panne peut \u00eatre remplac\u00e9 par une pi\u00e8ce neuve. On trouve encore beaucoup de pi\u00e8ces sans probl\u00e8me sur le net, gr\u00e2ce au syst\u00e8me modulaire. Apr\u00e8s tout, cet \u00e9clair rouge du Grand Nord est la S construite seulement deux ans avec un toit targa qui peut \u00eatre relev\u00e9 \u00e9lectriquement ou compl\u00e8tement retir\u00e9.
