Un souffle discret du turbo. Peut-\u00eatre m\u00eame qu\u2019il ne vieillira jamais. Pourtant, les premiers Audi 100 type 44 arborent d\u00e9j\u00e0 fi\u00e8rement leur plaque de collection.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 l\u2019\u00e9poque, un break chic s\u2019appelait \u00ab Avant \u00bb &#8211; et il \u00e9tait Quattro. Qui aurait cru que cela deviendrait culte ?<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1982_le_choc_stylistique_et_technique\"><\/span>1982 : le choc stylistique et technique<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Lorsque l\u2019Audi 100 enti\u00e8rement repens\u00e9e est d\u00e9voil\u00e9e \u00e0 la presse sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e en 1982, avec sa ligne en coin, son a\u00e9rodynamisme lisse et un Cx record de 0,30, le choc est imm\u00e9diat. Chez BMW et Mercedes, on commence \u00e0 p\u00e2lir. Il s\u2019appelle \u00ab Avant \u00bb. L\u00e0 o\u00f9 BMW propose son Touring, Ford son Turnier, Mercedes son T-Modell et Opel son Caravan, Audi frappe fort avec un concept audacieux. Le pavillon de la berline est prolong\u00e9 vers l\u2019arri\u00e8re, sans la ligne verticale typique d\u2019un break classique. R\u00e9sultat : un Avant typ\u00e9 44 Quattro \u00e9voque davantage un shooting brake qu\u2019un utilitaire familial.<\/p>\n<p>Sportif, \u00e9l\u00e9gant, jamais tape-\u00e0-l\u2019\u0153il mais parfaitement statutaire. On pouvait s\u2019y rendre \u00e0 l\u2019op\u00e9ra sans passer pour un snob. Une configuration d\u00e9j\u00e0 redoutable en sortie d\u2019usine, et qui laisse encore un peu de marge pour les optimisations.<\/p>\n<p>Ce moteur, devenu l\u00e9gendaire, est n\u00e9 d\u2019une contrainte technique : faute de place pour un six cylindres sous le capot bas, Audi a simplement\u2026 rajout\u00e9 un cylindre au quatre existants. Le r\u00e9sultat ? Un bloc fiable, quasi indestructible si bien entretenu.<\/p>\n<p>De la l\u00e9g\u00e8re \u00e9vasement des ailes \u00e0 la ligne d\u2019\u00e9chappement, tout respire la puissance discr\u00e8te. Un jeu subtil d\u2019embrayage et d\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur, et gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la motricit\u00e9 Quattro, on d\u00e9vore d\u00e9j\u00e0 le virage avant d\u2019avoir eu le temps de d\u00e9gainer l\u2019appareil photo. Wow.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur, rien de professoral. On se croirait dans une Audi V8 en format r\u00e9duit. Le tableau de bord rappelle d\u2019ailleurs son pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseur : une immense grille d\u2019a\u00e9ration semble l\u2019unifier. Pas la pouss\u00e9e tranquille d\u2019un V8, mais plut\u00f4t l\u2019explosivit\u00e9 d\u2019un moteur de course. On grimpe dans les tours sur les routes secondaires, on enroule la rocade, et voil\u00e0 d\u00e9j\u00e0 les champs au nord de Hambourg.<\/p>\n<p>Ce break turbo colle \u00e0 l\u2019asphalte. L\u2019estomac et l\u2019oreille interne en prennent pour leur grade. Et pourtant, on peut parfaitement partir en vacances avec : l\u2019Audi accueille cinq personnes et un coffre plein. Il \u00e9tait pens\u00e9 pour durer.<\/p>\n<p>Mais aujourd\u2019hui, certaines pi\u00e8ces sont devenues rares. Le constructeur a cess\u00e9 la production de nombreux \u00e9l\u00e9ments d\u2019origine.
