Si les dommages sont rares, la r\u00e9paration est en revanche co\u00fbteuse. Un moteur \u00e0 combustion ne peut d\u00e9ployer sa puissance que si le carburant et l&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne entrent dans les cylindres \u00e0 un moment bien pr\u00e9cis. Dans un moteur \u00e0 quatre temps, ce sont les soupapes, situ\u00e9es dans la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motointegrator.fr\/produits\/culasse-10702\/\">culasse<\/a>, qui en sont responsables. Outre le fait de loger les soupapes, elle doit \u00e9galement assurer l&rsquo;\u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9. Les dommages sont co\u00fbteux et la r\u00e9paration ne semble pas toujours rentable.<\/p>\n<h2>La culasse loge l&rsquo;arbre \u00e0 cames et les soupapes<\/h2>\n<p>En principe, la culasse est une pi\u00e8ce en fonte de conception simple qui, outre les soupapes, abrite \u00e9galement l&rsquo;arbre \u00e0 cames. L&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.motointegrator.fr\/produits\/arbres-a-cames-1070223\/\">arbre \u00e0 cames<\/a> commande les soupapes afin que le carburant et l&rsquo;air puissent entrer dans le cylindre au bon moment, alors que les gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement en sont \u00e9vacu\u00e9s. Dans un moteur \u00e0 deux temps, cette r\u00e9gulation est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement assur\u00e9e par le piston et ne n\u00e9cessite donc pas de soupapes. La culasse dans ce cas est de conception bien plus.<\/p>\n<p>La transition entre le cylindre et la culasse est un point n\u00e9vralgique, car il faut garantir une \u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9 absolue. Le cylindre est entour\u00e9 d&rsquo;eau de refroidissement. En cas de fuite, celle-ci est aspir\u00e9e dans le cylindre et br\u00fbl\u00e9e lors de la combustion. L&rsquo;eau de refroidissement p\u00e9n\u00e8tre \u00e9galement dans le circuit de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motointegrator.fr\/produits\/lubrification-109\/\">lubrification<\/a> et l&rsquo;huile \u00e0 son tour dans le circuit de refroidissement. C&rsquo;est surtout le premier cas qui qui est probl\u00e9matique. D&rsquo;une part, le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motointegrator.fr\/produits\/joint-de-culasse-1070208\/\">joint de culasse<\/a>, qui est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement fabriqu\u00e9 en m\u00e9tal r\u00e9sistant \u00e0 la chaleur, peut \u00eatre endommag\u00e9. Certains joints ne r\u00e9sistent pas longtemps aux conditions de pression. Il est \u00e9galement possible que la culasse se d\u00e9forme en raison des fortes contraintes. Si elle repose de fa\u00e7on in\u00e9gale sur le cylindre, le joint ne peut plus assurer l&rsquo;\u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9 de la zone de contact. Un serrage incorrect et in\u00e9gal des vis de fixation peut aussi entrainer une d\u00e9formation de la culasse. Malgr\u00e9 leur robustesse apparente, de nombreuses culasses sont tr\u00e8s sensibles \u00e0 cette charge in\u00e9gale. Sur certains mod\u00e8les, des vices de fabrication entra\u00eenent des fissures dans le mat\u00e9riau. L\u00e0 aussi, des fuites se produisent. manifestent notamment par la dilution de l&rsquo;huile, qui entra\u00eene assez souvent des fuites \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents endroits du bloc moteur. On observe \u00e9galement une forte \u00e9mission de gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement, due \u00e0 la combustion d&rsquo;eau. D&rsquo;autres causes de d\u00e9fauts de la culasse sont \u00e0 rechercher au niveau des soupapes. Si une soupape se rompt sous l&rsquo;effet de la chaleur ou d&rsquo;un vice de fabrication, la culasse en subit g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement les cons\u00e9quences. Il faut alors la d\u00e9monter, car le cylindre est certainement touch\u00e9. Sur les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9quip\u00e9s d&rsquo;une courroie de distribution, la rupture de celle-ci peut entra\u00eener un \u00e9crasement des soupapes par le piston. Dans ce cas \u00e9galement, il faut proc\u00e9der au d\u00e9montage de la culasse. La rupture d&rsquo;une cha\u00eene de distribution entra\u00eene en principe le m\u00eame r\u00e9sultat, mais cela n&rsquo;arrive que tr\u00e8s rarement.<\/p>\n<h2>La r\u00e9paration n&rsquo;est pas toujours judicieuse<\/h2>\n<p>Le d\u00e9montage d&rsquo;une culasse, tout comme sa r\u00e9paration, est r\u00e9serv\u00e9 aux professionnels. La r\u00e9paration, en particulier, doit \u00eatre effectu\u00e9e dans le cadre d&rsquo;une remise en \u00e9tat du moteur. Il est n\u00e9cessaire de poncer la surface d&rsquo;\u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9, de fraiser les si\u00e8ges de soupape et de remplacer les guides de soupape.
