La direction de Ross est bas\u00e9e sur un axe cylindrique qui s&rsquo;engr\u00e8ne dans l&rsquo;arbre \u00e0 vis sans fin. Quant \u00e0 la direction Gemmer, elle se passe des dents de la roue \u00e0 vis sans fin. \u00c0 la place, des disques dispos\u00e9s parall\u00e8lement s&rsquo;engr\u00e8nent dans l&rsquo;arbre \u00e0 vis sans fin.<\/p>\n<p>La direction \u00e0 vis et \u00e9crou se base sur un \u00e9crou \u00e0 vis qui se d\u00e9place en fonction de la rotation par la vis et l\u2019arbre du volant. La direction \u00e0 recirculation de billes est une \u00e9volution de cette derni\u00e8re. Des billes circulent entre le filetage de la vis et le filetage de l&rsquo;\u00e9crou, ce qui permet de r\u00e9duire consid\u00e9rablement la perte de friction. quelques ann\u00e9es, la plupart des voitures r\u00e9cemment produites disposent d&rsquo;une direction \u00e0 cr\u00e9maill\u00e8re. Un pignon se trouve \u00e0 l&rsquo;extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 de la colonne de direction. Les dents de ce dernier s&rsquo;engr\u00e8nent dans le filetage de la cr\u00e9maill\u00e8re. La rotation du volant entra\u00eene un d\u00e9placement lat\u00e9ral de la cr\u00e9maill\u00e8re. Les barres d&rsquo;accouplement sont reli\u00e9es aux extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s de la cr\u00e9maill\u00e8re par des articulations \u00e0 rotule. La cr\u00e9maill\u00e8re transmet donc le mouvement du volant aux barres d&rsquo;accouplement et le mouvement est transmis aux roues avant via les supports de roue.<\/p>\n<p>Le grand avantage de la direction \u00e0 cr\u00e9maill\u00e8re est la simplicit\u00e9 de son concept. Cela permet des co\u00fbts de production peu \u00e9lev\u00e9s et un assemblage facile. Par ailleurs, une assistance \u00e9lectrique ou hydraulique est mise en place (la direction assist\u00e9e) pour augmenter le confort de conduite et r\u00e9duire la force de direction n\u00e9cessaire.<\/p>\n<h2>Usure des bo\u00eetiers de direction<\/h2>\n<p>Une <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motointegrator.fr\/produits\/systemes-de-pilotage-117\/\">direction<\/a> fiable de la voiture est d&rsquo;une importance cruciale pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 routi\u00e8re.
