Pourtant, on n&rsquo;y pr\u00eate gu\u00e8re attention, \u00e0 moins qu&rsquo;il ne tombe en panne. Vous d\u00e9couvrirez dans cet article comment ce composant contribue \u00e0 la performance du moteur et \u00e0 la protection de l&rsquo;environnement et comment reconna\u00eetre un collecteur d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement d\u00e9faillant.\r\n<h2>Structure et fonctionnement<\/h2>\r\nLe collecteur d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement est la premi\u00e8re pi\u00e8ce du <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motointegrator.fr\/produits\/systeme-dechappement-121\/\">syst\u00e8me d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement<\/a> d&rsquo;un v\u00e9hicule automobile et est directement attach\u00e9 au moteur. Selon le constructeur et le mod\u00e8le de v\u00e9hicule, il se compose de conduits moul\u00e9s ou coud\u00e9s. On utilise de plus en plus souvent de la fonte alli\u00e9e, qui r\u00e9siste aux gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement \u00e0 plus de 900 \u00b0C, ou de l&rsquo;acier inoxydable, qui permet de construire des collecteurs d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement plus l\u00e9gers et plus compacts.\r\n\r\nLes gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement chauds du moteur passent d&rsquo;abord dans le collecteur. Celui-ci rassemble les flux de gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement des diff\u00e9rents cylindres et les dirige vers un conduit commun ou, pour les moteurs avec <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motointegrator.fr\/produits\/turbocompresseur-124\/\">turbocompresseur<\/a>, vers le turbocompresseur. Viennent ensuite le dispositif d&rsquo;\u00e9puration des gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement et le pot d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement. L&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e brusque des gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement dans le collecteur cr\u00e9e un front de pression qui entra\u00eene une d\u00e9pression. Dans les collecteurs d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement con\u00e7us de mani\u00e8re optimale, les oscillations de pression peuvent aider les gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement \u00e0 s&rsquo;\u00e9chapper des cylindres. Si, par exemple, une fissure dans le collecteur entra\u00eene une modification de la pression dans le collecteur, la puissance du moteur diminue tandis que la consommation de carburant augmente.\r\n\r\nLes crit\u00e8res importants lors de la construction des collecteurs d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement sont:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>la longueur et le diam\u00e8tre des tuyaux,<\/li>\r\n \t<li>le cheminement des gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement,<\/li>\r\n \t<li>l&rsquo;ordre dans lequel les gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement des diff\u00e9rents cylindres sont rassembl\u00e9s.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nEn outre, la surface int\u00e9rieure des tuyaux du collecteur doit \u00eatre aussi lisse que possible. Et ce afin de r\u00e9duire la friction entre les gaz d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement et le collecteur.\r\n<h2>Causes possibles de d\u00e9faillance<\/h2>\r\nLe collecteur d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement est le premier \u00e9l\u00e9ment de la ligne d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement. Il subit alors de fortes contraintes thermiques. En raison des nombreux cycles de chauffage et de refroidissement, le collecteur peut subir des tensions dues \u00e0 la dilatation et \u00e0 la contraction du mat\u00e9riau. Cela peut entra\u00eener des fissures ou des cassures. \u00c0 cela s&rsquo;ajoutent les contraintes vibratoires lorsque le moteur tourne. Elles peuvent \u00e9galement endommager le collecteur en provoquant des cassures ou des fissures. Bien que les collecteurs d&rsquo;\u00e9chappement durent normalement toute la vie d&rsquo;une voiture, une fissure peut survenir dans le collecteur m\u00eame sur les v\u00e9hicules
