BMW lance ses campagnes publicitaires dans le monde entier avec ce slogan accrocheur depuis 1972. Pour atteindre cet objectif, le constructeur automobile bavarois s&rsquo;appuie aujourd&rsquo;hui sur deux concepts de transmission diff\u00e9rents, xDrive et sDrive.<\/p>\n<h2>sDrive &#8211; le concept de conduite classique de BMW<\/h2>\n<p>Pendant plusieurs d\u00e9cennies, les BMW n&rsquo;\u00e9taient disponibles qu&rsquo;avec un seul concept de transmission. Un moteur mont\u00e9 longitudinalement \u00e0 l&rsquo;avant et un essieu arri\u00e8re moteur assuraient la dynamique de conduite et le plaisir de conduire des BMW de toutes cat\u00e9gories. \u00c0 l&rsquo;origine, sDrive d\u00e9signait les BMW \u00e0 propulsion arri\u00e8re. Depuis, la d\u00e9signation sDrive s\u2019applique \u00e9galement aux v\u00e9hicules BMW \u00e0 traction avant, introduits il y a quelques ann\u00e9es seulement.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nLes petites s\u00e9ries de mod\u00e8les BMW, en particulier, ont une traction avant. Par exemple, la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motointegrator.fr\/pieces-de-rechange-accessoires\/g\/bmw\/1\/\">BMW S\u00e9rie 1<\/a> \u00e0 partir de 2020, la BMW S\u00e9rie 2 Active Tourer ou la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motointegrator.fr\/pieces-de-rechange-accessoires\/g\/bmw\/x1\/\">BMW X1<\/a>. Dans ce v\u00e9hicule, le moteur est install\u00e9 transversalement et entra\u00eene les roues avant via une bo\u00eete de vitesses. Sur certains v\u00e9hicules de ces s\u00e9ries de mod\u00e8les, il est toutefois possible de commander la transmission int\u00e9grale. Cependant, l&rsquo;essieu avant prend en charge la majeure partie de la puissance du moteur. Si le syst\u00e8me de contr\u00f4le \u00e9lectronique d\u00e9tecte une trop grande diff\u00e9rence de vitesse entre les essieux avant et arri\u00e8re, il augmente la proportion de puissance motrice pour les roues arri\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p>La d\u00e9signation sDrive ne peut donc s\u2019appliquer qu\u2019aux BMW dans lesquelles soit l&rsquo;essieu arri\u00e8re, soit l&rsquo;essieu avant est entra\u00een\u00e9. Elle ne renseigne en aucun cas sur la configuration de la transmission, \u00e0 savoir s&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une transmission automatique ou un diff\u00e9rentiel \u00e0 glissement limit\u00e9. BMW est le seul constructeur qui, dans une certaine mesure, identifie les v\u00e9hicules \u00e0 conduite normale par une d\u00e9signation distincte. Les v\u00e9hicules BMW \u00e0 deux essieux moteurs portent le suffixe xDrive.<\/p>\n<h2>BMW xDrive &#8211; la transmission int\u00e9grale de Munich<\/h2>\n<p>On l\u2019appelle 4Matic chez Mercedes, 4Motion chez VW, Quattro chez Audi et, en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, simplement 4WD pour Four-Wheel Drive ou AWD pour All-Wheel-Drive. Il est question de la transmission int\u00e9grale pour les v\u00e9hicules \u00e0 moteur. Comme de nombreux constructeurs, BMW utilise sa propre d\u00e9signation pour ses transmissions int\u00e9grales et l&rsquo;appelle xDrive. Cet ajout \u00e0 la d\u00e9signation du type permet de distinguer facilement les BMW \u00e0 transmission int\u00e9grale des BMW \u00e0 un seul essieu moteur.<\/p>\n<p>Tous ces syst\u00e8mes ont pour objectif d&rsquo;assurer une propulsion et une stabilit\u00e9 directionnelle optimales sur toutes les surfaces, sur les routes glissantes et dans d\u2019autres conditions d\u00e9favorables, am\u00e9liorant ainsi la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de conduite. Bien que l&rsquo;on consid\u00e8re Audi comme \u00e9tant le pionnier de la transmission int\u00e9grale pour les voitures particuli\u00e8res depuis l&rsquo;introduction de la Quattro originale en 1980, BMW peut \u00e9galement se vanter d\u2019avoir une longue histoire de v\u00e9hicules \u00e0 transmission int\u00e9grale.<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<h2>De la 325i \u00e0 transmission int\u00e9grale de 1985 aux mod\u00e8les X de 2021<\/h2>\n<p>BMW n&rsquo;a cess\u00e9 de d\u00e9velopper sa transmission int\u00e9grale au cours des 35 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es. Tout a commenc\u00e9 avec une 325i \u00e0 transmission int\u00e9grale permanente en 1985. Le constructeur bavarois la pr\u00e9sente \u00e0 un large public au salon de l&rsquo;automobile de Francfort. Sur cette premi\u00e8re BMW \u00e0 transmission int\u00e9grale, la puissance motrice \u00e9tait r\u00e9partie entre les essieux avant et arri\u00e8re dans un rapport de 37:63. Plusieurs blocages visqueux dans la bo\u00eete de vitesses de l&rsquo;essieu arri\u00e8re et dans la bo\u00eete de transfert caract\u00e9risent cette premi\u00e8re transmission int\u00e9grale.<\/p>\n<p>Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 suivie 3 ans plus tard par la BMW 525iX, la premi\u00e8re <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motointegrator.fr\/pieces-de-rechange-accessoires\/g\/bmw\/5\/\">BMW de la S\u00e9rie 5<\/a> avec une transmission int\u00e9grale. Le constructeur allemand \u00e9quipe cette BMW S\u00e9rie 5 d&rsquo;un nouveau syst\u00e8me avec des embrayages multidisques \u00e0 r\u00e9glage continu et automatique. En 1999, BMW a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 le X5, le premier v\u00e9hicule d&rsquo;activit\u00e9 sportive, abr\u00e9g\u00e9 en SAV. Dans cette BMW, la puissance motrice \u00e9tait distribu\u00e9e aux deux essieux via une bo\u00eete de vitesses plan\u00e9taire dans un rapport de 38:62. Pour la premi\u00e8re fois, la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motointegrator.fr\/pieces-de-rechange-accessoires\/g\/bmw\/x5\/\">BMW X5<\/a> a utilis\u00e9 les param\u00e8tres des diff\u00e9rents syst\u00e8mes de contr\u00f4le \u00e9lectronique du v\u00e9hicule pour contr\u00f4ler la transmission int\u00e9grale.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motointegrator.fr\/pieces-de-rechange-accessoires\/g\/bmw\/x3\/\">Les X3<\/a> et X5 produits \u00e0 partir de 2003 ont \u00e9t\u00e9 les premiers v\u00e9hicules du constructeur bavarois \u00e0 \u00eatre \u00e9quip\u00e9s du concept de transmission innovant xDrive. Aujourd&rsquo;hui, plus de 90 mod\u00e8les BMW sont disponibles avec xDrive, en \u00e9quipement standard ou optionnel.<\/p>\n<h2>xDrive &#8211; l&rsquo;\u00e9lectronique intelligente distribue la puissance motrice<\/h2>\n<p>Divers constructeurs automobiles, comme Audi, utilisent souvent un diff\u00e9rentiel central m\u00e9canique sur leurs v\u00e9hicules \u00e0 transmission int\u00e9grale. Ce diff\u00e9rentiel m\u00e9canique r\u00e9agit aux diff\u00e9rences de vitesse entre les essieux avant et arri\u00e8re et dirige la force motrice vers l&rsquo;essieu du v\u00e9hicule offrant la meilleure adh\u00e9rence. Dans le syst\u00e8me de transmission BMW X Drive, un embrayage multidisque \u00e0 commande \u00e9lectronique assure cette fonction.<\/p>\n<p>Dans des conditions normales, ce syst\u00e8me distribue avec succ\u00e8s la puissance motrice dans un rapport 40:60, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire qu&rsquo;il transfert 40% de la puissance motrice vers les roues avant et 60% vers les roues arri\u00e8re. Toutefois, selon la situation de conduite, il est possible d\u2019allouer jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 100% de la force motrice \u00e0 l&rsquo;essieu avant ou \u00e0 l&rsquo;essieu arri\u00e8re. Les niveaux interm\u00e9diaires sont bien s\u00fbr \u00e9galement possibles. Pour une r\u00e9partition optimale de la puissance en fonction des besoins, la commande \u00e9lectronique de l&#8217;embrayage multidisque est reli\u00e9e au syst\u00e8me de stabilit\u00e9 de conduite de la BMW.<\/p>\n<p>Le calcul de la r\u00e9partition de la puissance tient compte des vitesses des roues, de la position de la p\u00e9dale d&rsquo;acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur, de la vitesse de lacet (rotation du v\u00e9hicule autour de l&rsquo;axe vertical) et d&rsquo;autres param\u00e8tres. Ainsi, la tendance du v\u00e9hicule \u00e0 survirer ou \u00e0 sous-virer peut-\u00eatre contr\u00e9e \u00e0 un stade pr\u00e9coce. Par exemple, si une BMW avec xDrive commence \u00e0 d\u00e9raper par les roues avant vers l&rsquo;ext\u00e9rieur du virage, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire \u00e0 sous-virer, le syst\u00e8me \u00e9lectronique r\u00e9agit. Il transfert une proportion plus grande du couple moteur vers les roues arri\u00e8re et r\u00e9duit la proportion du couple moteur vers les roues avant.
